Dancers and their families come to House of Ballet for costumes and classwear, the week’s ballet news, and the schools, events and people in our directory. If your business is for dancers, this is a good place to be seen.
Who the site is for
We’re a new site, so we don’t have visitor numbers to quote yet, and we won’t guess at them. What we can tell you is who we built it for:
- Dancers from their early teens up, most of them training in classical ballet, along with adult dancers and people who love the balletcore look.
- Parents, mostly mums, who buy the costumes and classwear, pay the fees and book the eisteddfods.
- Teachers and studio owners looking for costumes for group dances, and for events and services to pass on to their students.
We expect most readers to be women and girls in the capital cities, with a smaller share in regional Australia and some overseas, mainly for the news. Once we have a few months of real figures, we’ll add them here.
Directory Spotlight
A Spotlight puts your listing first in its section of the directory, marked with a Spotlight tag, so it’s the first thing people see when they look for a school, an event, a service or dancer health care. It suits ballet schools taking enrolments, eisteddfods and competitions, performances, and services such as photographers and physiotherapists.
Sponsored news
Our homepage news, From the wings, changes every week. You can join it in two ways:
- Sponsored story. A headline and short summary in From the wings that links straight to your own site. Good for an audition call, a season launch or a new product.
- Advertorial. A full article about your business, published on House of Ballet and linked from the homepage. You supply the words and photos, and we edit them to suit the site.
Both are labelled Sponsored, every time. The rest of the news is chosen on its merits, and coverage in it isn’t for sale.
Banner ads
- Leaderboard. A wide banner above the footer on every page of the site.
- Product ads. An ad tile among the products in Costumes, Classwear or Balletcore, for brands dancers already shop for.
We’ll send artwork sizes when you book.
What we accept
Many of the people we write for are teenagers, so we’re choosy. Everything we run has to be relevant to dancers or the people who look after them, and suitable for a young audience. We don’t take ads for diets or weight loss, cosmetic procedures, gambling or alcohol, and we can turn down anything that doesn’t fit. Ads follow Australian advertising standards and are always clearly marked.
